Text Composition

Contextualization

Hello, little writers! Let's embark on a wonderful journey through the magical world of words and stories. In this project, you will learn to compose texts in a fun and enjoyable way.

Words are like colorful little stones that, when put together, form stories, ideas, and feelings. Thus, we can say that a text is like a big puzzle, where each word has its right place. Have you ever thought about that? How would our lives be if we couldn't use words to express ourselves?

Did you know that, even being so young, you are already capable of creating incredible texts? From the first word you wrote until today, you have been developing this skill. That's why our project will be based on practice, on your experience with words, and on your limitless imagination!

Introduction

Now, let's talk a little about the types of texts. There are many, but we will focus on three: narrative, descriptive, and instructional.

  • Narrative texts are like the stories you love to hear and read. They have a beginning, a middle, and an end, and tell a sequence of events that happen to the characters.

  • Descriptive texts are like paintings with words. They show us how people, places, objects are, in a way that we can imagine.

  • Instructional texts are like cake recipes, for example. They teach us how to do something, following a sequence of steps.

All these types of texts are very important, and we use them all the time, even without realizing it! Through texts, we learn, communicate, and have fun. And now, with this project, you will become true masters in the art of composing texts. Are you ready to start the adventure?

Practical Activity

Activity Title: My Great Story

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to allow students, in groups, to explore and practice the composition of different types of texts (narrative, descriptive, and instructional), while stimulating creativity, cooperation, communication skills, and proactivity.

Detailed Project Description

Each group of students will be challenged to create a Great Story. This story will actually be a composition of three texts: a narrative text, a descriptive text, and an instructional text.

The first text will be the narrative, where the students will create a story with characters, a setting, and a problem that needs to be solved.

The second text will be the descriptive, where they should describe the scenario and the characters of the story in a detailed way, as if they were painting a picture with words.

Finally, the third text will be the instructional, where they should present a solution to the problem of the story, following a sequence of steps.

Necessary Materials

  • Paper and pencil to write down ideas and write the texts
  • Books and magazines for inspiration
  • Dictionary (can be online)
  • Computer or tablet with internet access (for research, if necessary)

Step by Step

  1. Group Formation: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will receive a sheet of paper and a pencil to write down ideas.

  2. Story Definition: Together, the students will create a story, with characters, a setting, and a problem that needs to be solved. They can be inspired by books, movies, cartoons, or create something completely original!

  3. Text Composition: With the story defined, the students will start composing the texts. They should think about what happens in the story to write the narrative text, how the characters and the setting are for the descriptive text, and how the problem is solved for the instructional text.

  4. Text Revision: After writing the texts, the students should revise them, checking if the words are correct, if the story makes sense, and if the texts are well-organized.

  5. Presentation of the Great Story: Finally, each group will present their Great Story to the class. They can read the texts or tell them orally, if they prefer.

Remember, the idea is to have fun while learning. Use your imagination, collaborate, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. The most important thing is the learning process and the experience of working as a team. Good luck, little writers!
