Writing is everywhere! From the messages we exchange on our electronic devices, to the books we read and the signs we see on the street. It is the basis of many other important skills, such as reading and mathematics. Yes, even mathematics! After all, how would we solve a math problem without writing the numbers and operations?

Introduction

In this project, we will dive into the universe of writing. We will learn about the letters, the sounds they represent, and how to put them together to form words. We will explore the rules that govern the writing of our beautiful Portuguese language, and also understand the importance of writing in our lives.

Practical Activity: "The Magic Alphabet"

Project Objective

In this project, you will become the masters of the alphabet! Through playful and practical activities, you will explore the letters of the alphabet, their sounds, and how they combine to form words. In addition, you will develop socio-emotional skills, such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and creativity.

Project Description

"The Magic Alphabet" is a project where you, in groups, will create a very special storybook. Each story will be based on a letter of the alphabet. You should choose words that start with the chosen letter and create a story involving these words.

Required Materials

• A4 paper
• Pencils, erasers, colored markers
• Glue and scissors
• Old magazines or newspapers (to cut out pictures)
• Cardboards (to make the book cover)
• Tape or stapler (to assemble the book)

Step by Step

1. Form the Groups: Divide into groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group should receive a letter of the alphabet.

2. Choose the Words: With the help of the teacher, research words that start with the group's letter. Remember, the words should be simple, so that everyone can read and understand.

3. Create the Story: Now, it's time to use your imagination! With the chosen words, create a story. The story can be about anything, as long as all the group's words are used.

4. Draw the Illustrations: Each group should draw illustrations for their story. Remember, illustrations are very important as they help to tell the story!

5. Assemble the Book: Once the illustrations are ready, it's time to assemble the book! Each page of the book should have an illustration and the written story. You can write the story by hand or use a computer to type it (if you know how).
