Well, all the things we use in our day-to-day lives, like the paper we write on, the pencil we draw with, the sneakers we wear, and even the food we eat, come from somewhere, right?
There are two main ways to get these things: agriculture and extraction. Agriculture is when we plant something and then harvest it, like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Extraction, on the other hand, is when we take something from nature, like wood from trees, oil from the ground, and minerals from mines. In this project, we will focus on extractive activities, which are very important for our lives but can also have negative impacts on nature.
Introduction
Extractive activities are a fundamental part of the global economy. They provide raw materials for the production of many goods we use, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, and even medicines. However, we must be careful, as some of these activities can be harmful to the environment.
In Brazil, we have several important extractive activities. In the Amazon region, for example, the extraction of products like Brazil nuts, rubber, and açaí is essential for the subsistence of many communities. But unfortunately, not all extractive activities are carried out sustainably, that is, without harming nature. Illegal logging, for example, is a major problem in our country.
Therefore, it is very important that we learn about extractive activities and how they can affect the environment. That way, we can make more conscious decisions in the future, contributing to the preservation of our planet. Shall we?
Practical Activity: "Extraction Explorers"
Project Objective
In this activity, each group of students will be an "Extraction Explorer." You will have to research and present an extractive activity that is important to Brazil. In addition, you will have to explain how this activity can be carried out sustainably, without harming the environment.
Detailed Project Description

Each group must choose an extractive activity to research. It can be the extraction of some type of fruit, wood, mineral, oil, etc.

The groups should research this activity: how it is done, where it is done, who does it, what the extracted product is used for, etc.

In addition, the groups should research the importance of carrying out this activity sustainably. They should seek information about the negative impacts that can occur when the activity is not carried out sustainably, as well as examples of how the activity can be carried out sustainably.

With the information gathered, the groups should put together a presentation. They should explain what they researched about the extractive activity, show images or objects related to it (if possible), and talk about the importance of carrying out the activity sustainably.

On the day of the presentation, each group will have 10 minutes to talk about their topic. The presentation can be done in several ways: it can be a play, a song, a cartoon, a game, etc. The important thing is that everyone in the group participates in the presentation and that the information is conveyed in a clear and fun way.

Delivery Format
Each group must deliver the presentation on the scheduled day and, after all the presentations, we will send a digital copy of the presentations to the parents so that they can also learn a little more about extractive activities. In addition, each group must submit a simple report, handwritten or typed, containing the information collected during the research.
