Activity Title: "Understanding Detectives"

Project Objective:

This project aims to develop students' research and text comprehension skills, as well as stimulate teamwork, proactivity, and creativity. Students will conduct research on a chosen topic, read and understand texts related to this topic, and finally, create and present a short comic story.

Detailed Project Description:

Each group of students will be responsible for choosing a topic of their interest, such as animals, sports, fairy tales, among others. Based on the chosen topic, they will conduct research in books or on the internet, looking for texts that talk about the chosen topic. After the research, students will read the texts, identify the most important information, and create a short comic story telling what they learned.

Required Materials:

• A4 paper or cardboard
• Colored pencils, markers, crayons
• Magazines for cutting (optional)
• Glue
• Blunt scissors
• Access to books or the internet (with teacher or parent supervision)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:

1. Group Formation: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members.

2. Topic Selection: Each group must choose a topic of their interest for the research.

3. Research: With the help of the teacher or parents, students will conduct research on the chosen topic. They can gather information from books or the internet. It is important for students to take note of the sources consulted, so they can give proper credits.

4. Reading and Comprehension: After the research, students will read the texts they found and identify the most important information about the chosen topic. They can take notes to aid in comprehension.

5. Creation of the comic story: With the collected information, students will create a short comic story telling what they learned. Each story should have at least 4 panels and should include a title and speech bubbles for the characters.

6. Presentation: Finally, each group will present their comic story to the class. They should explain what they learned about the topic and how they conducted the research.

Delivery Format:

The work should be delivered in the format of a "Comic Book of Stories". Students can decorate the cover of the book with the title of the chosen topic and with drawings related to the topic. Inside the book, they should paste the sequence of panels they created, writing the characters' dialogues and what each panel represents. The book must be delivered within the deadline set by the teacher.
