In our daily lives, dance is present in various moments, whether at parties, celebrations, or even when we are at home and want to have some fun. Dance not only helps us express our feelings and emotions but also contributes to our physical and mental health, in addition to being an excellent tool for communication and social integration.

Introduction

Dance is an art form that uses the body as a means of expression. It can be done individually or in a group, which leads us to the concept of dance collectives. A dance collective is a group of people who come together to dance, collaborate in creating choreographies, and performances.

In our project, we will focus on two key theoretical concepts: collaboration and creation in dance. Collaboration is an important skill that involves working together to achieve a common goal. In the case of dance collectives, collaboration is essential for the creation and execution of a choreography. Dance creation involves the process of developing a new dance or choreography.

Practical Activity: Forming Our Own Dance Collectives

Project Objective

In this project, we will form our own Dance Collectives! The goal is to put into practice everything we have learned about dance collectives, enhancing teamwork, creativity, and communication skills, as well as having fun dancing together.

Project Description

Each team will create their own dance collective, choose a name for the collective, create an original choreography, and rehearse it until the final presentation for the whole class.

• Spacious dance area
• Sound system
• Comfortable clothing
• Lots of creativity

Step by Step

1. Group Formation:

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members each, and each group will form their Dance Collective.

2. Name Selection:

Each group must choose a name for the dance collective, a name that represents the group's identity.

3. Choreography Creation:

With the help of the teacher, each group will create an original choreography. Think of a theme, a song, and movements that you like.

4. Rehearsals:

The groups will have several sessions to rehearse and improve the choreography. Remember, collaboration is key: listen to each other and respect everyone's ideas.

5. Final Presentation:

After some rehearsals, each collective will present their choreography to the rest of the class. This will be the grand finale of our project!

Delivery Format

Each group must submit a report containing the chosen name for the collective and a description of the choreography, explaining the idea behind the dance steps and what they represent. In addition, on the day of the final presentation, each group will perform their choreography for the class.
