So, the question that remains is: how did the human species come about? How did we, human beings, come to inhabit this planet? Well, that's what we're going to explore in this project! Let's learn about the incredible history of human evolution and how we came to be what we are today.

Introduction

To understand the emergence of the human species, we need to understand the concept of evolution. Evolution is the process by which all forms of life on Earth have changed over time. This happens because living beings are always adapting to the environment in which they live. And human evolution is no different!

Have you ever heard of Charles Darwin? He was a scientist who lived in the 19th century and studied the evolution of species. Darwin realized that animals and plants living in different places on the planet are different from each other. And he explained this by saying that they adapted to the environment in which they live.

But how does this relate to our origin? Well, according to the theory of evolution, humans are the result of a long process of changes and adaptations. Over millions of years, our ancestors transformed until they became what we are today.

But this transformation did not happen all at once. The human species went through several stages of evolution, each with its own characteristics and adaptations. And that's what we're going to explore in this project: the different phases of human evolution and how they led us to be what we are today.

Practical Activity: "The Timeline of Human Evolution"

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to create a timeline illustrating the different phases of human evolution, highlighting the main characteristics of each period.

Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, should research each phase of human evolution and create timeline posters. Each poster will represent a different era and should include images, illustrations, and information about the main characteristics of humans in that period.

Required Materials

• Cardboard or poster board
• Colored pencils, markers, crayons
• Blunt scissors
• Glue
• Old magazines for cutting (optional)
• Internet access for research (under teacher supervision)

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Students should be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people.

2. Research: Each group should research the different phases of human evolution. They should find information on how humans lived, behaved, and looked in each period.

3. Creating the timeline: With the collected information, the groups should draw a straight line on the cardboard or poster board, which will be the timeline. They should divide the line into sections, each representing a phase of human evolution.

4. Illustration and description: In each section of the timeline, students should draw or paste images representing the main characteristics of that period. They should also write a brief description of what they learned in the research.
