Writing: Shared and Autonomous

Contextualization

Hello, little writers! Our writing project for this month will be an incredible adventure through letters, words, and sentences. Have you ever stopped to think about how writing is an important part of our daily lives? Through it, we can communicate, express our feelings, tell stories, and even learn new things! But did you know that there are different ways of writing?

Writing can be shared, when we work together to create something, like a book, a play, or even a poem. And writing can also be autonomous, when we write alone, like when we keep a diary, make a shopping list, or even a birthday card. Both types of writing are important and have their own characteristics and challenges. And that's exactly what we are going to explore together in this project!

Introduction

In our project, we will dive into the wonderful world of shared and autonomous writing. We will understand how they work, what makes them different, and how we can use each of them to express ourselves in unique ways. We will work as a group to create a story and, at the same time, we will have the chance to explore autonomous writing, where each of you will write your own tale.

Shared writing is an excellent way to learn to work as a team and to value the ideas of others. When we write together, each of us contributes with our own ideas, and the final result is a collective creation. Autonomous writing, on the other hand, gives us the chance to be creative and explore our own thoughts and ideas. In this type of writing, we are solely responsible for what we create.

At the end of the project, we will have the opportunity to share our stories with the class and discuss what we have learned along the way. So, grab your pencils and papers, prepare your creative minds, and let's embark on this journey of discovery and fun through writing!

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Adventures in the World of Writing"

Project Objective:

Develop the skill of shared writing, where students will work in groups to create a story, and the skill of autonomous writing, where each student will create their own tale. Additionally, the activity aims to develop teamwork, communication, time management, and creativity of the students.

Detailed Project Description:

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will have the task of creating a story, which will be a combination of ideas from all group members. Additionally, each student will write their own tale individually.

The group story writing will happen sequentially. Each student will contribute a part of the story, passing it on to the next group member, who will add their own part. Thus, the story will gradually take shape, with the collaboration of everyone.

The individual tale writing will be free, each student can create their story in the way they prefer.

Required Materials:

  • A4 paper or notebook for notes
  • Pencils, erasers, and colored pens
  • Computer (if available) for typing the individual tale

Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:

For Group Writing:

  1. The group should gather and discuss the theme of the story they want to create.
  2. The first student in the group will start writing the story, creating the introduction and presenting the characters.
  3. The second student will continue the story, developing the plot and creating conflicts.
  4. The third student will continue, resolving the conflicts and creating the conclusion.
  5. The other students, if any, can add details to the story or revise what has already been written.

For Individual Writing:

  1. Each student will choose a theme for their tale.
  2. Students should write the story of their tale, which can be as short or long as they wish.
  3. After writing, each student should revise their tale and make any necessary changes.
  4. If possible, individual tales can be typed on the computer.

At the end of the project, each group will present the story they created to the class. Additionally, each student will read their individual tale to the class. This activity will be an excellent opportunity for students to develop their speaking and listening skills, as well as learn to value and respect the work of others.

Remember, the most important thing is to have fun while we learn! Good luck, little writers!
