Project Objective

The objective of this project is for you, in groups, to become linguistic detectives and unravel the mysteries of Morphosyntax. You will create an illustrated book that will present, in a creative and fun way, the word classes and their functions in the sentence structure.

Project Description

You will create an "Illustrated Book of Morphosyntax". The book should contain sections for each of the word classes (noun, adjective, verb, etc.) and for the concepts of syntax (subject, predicate, agreement). In each section, you will explain what the word class or syntax concept is and give illustrated examples.

Necessary Materials

1. Cardstock or cardboard for the book cover.
2. White paper for the inside pages.
3. Pencils, colored pens, crayons, scissors, and glue.
4. Magazines and newspapers for cutting out images (optional).
5. Internet access (with adult supervision) for researching and printing images (optional).

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Form groups of 3 to 5 linguistic detectives. Each group will be a team that will work together to unravel the mysteries of Morphosyntax.

2. Book Planning: With your group, plan what your book will look like. You can divide the sections among yourselves or work on them all together. Remember to think about what images and examples you will use.
