Our journey begins by understanding what a city is. Can you tell me what a city is? Well, a city is an area of land with many people living in it. These people live in houses, apartments, and often in tall buildings called skyscrapers. And what else do we find in a city? Yes, streets, roads, squares, parks, shops, schools, hospitals, and much more!
Now, how about we think about what makes a city special? It's its urban spaces! Urban spaces are the different parts that make up the city and give it its unique identity. For example, we have the city center, which is usually where the tallest buildings and busiest shops are located. In neighborhoods, we find more houses, schools, and parks.
Introduction
Each urban space has a different function and importance. For example, in a city, we have residential spaces, where people live, commercial spaces, where people work and shop, and leisure spaces, where people have fun and relax. In addition, the city also has circulation spaces, such as streets, avenues, bridges, and viaducts, which allow people to move from one place to another.
Have you ever wondered how all these spaces are related? How do people move around the city? How is traffic organized? Why do some neighborhoods have more green spaces than others? These are some of the questions we will explore in this project.

Activity Title: "My City, My Spaces"
Project Objective:
The objective of this project is for students, in groups, to understand and analyze the different urban spaces in the city where they live, developing skills in observation, research, teamwork, communication, time management, and problem-solving.
Detailed Project Description:
In this activity, students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, will investigate and map the different urban spaces in their city. They will analyze the function of each space, how people move around the city, traffic problems, the presence of green areas, among other aspects. The research results will be presented in an "Urban Spaces Map" and an "Observation Report".
Required Materials:
- Brown paper or cardboard
- Colored pencils, markers, crayons
- Ruler
- Blunt scissors
- Glue
- Magazines, newspapers, tourist brochures (for cutting and pasting on the map)
- Internet access (under adult supervision)
- Camera or cell phone (for recording observations)
Detailed Activity Steps:

Group Formation: The teacher will form groups of 3 to 5 students.

Material Preparation: Each group will take a sheet of brown paper or cardboard, colored pencils, markers, crayons, ruler, blunt scissors, and glue.

Area of Study Definition: Each group will choose an area of the city to investigate. It can be the neighborhood where they live, the city's central region, a park, etc.

Observation and Recording: Students will visit the chosen area and observe the different urban spaces. They should record their observations in the "Observation Report" (which can be a separate sheet of paper).
