Fractions can be used to represent many things in the real world, such as percentages, time, money, length measurements, and much more. Therefore, it is very important to understand how fractions work and how we can use them in our daily lives.
In this project, we will explore fractions in a very fun way: through the composition of shapes. We will create different geometric shapes using fractions and, thus, better understand how fractions work and how we can use them to represent different parts of a whole.

Project Objective

In this project, students will form groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will receive a list of foods and kitchen utensils. The group's task will be to create geometric shapes from these foods, representing fractions.
For example, a group can use slices of bread to form a rectangle and then divide this rectangle into fractions using other foods, such as fruits or vegetables. They can represent the fractions by placing different foods in each part of the rectangle.
