Introduction

Project Objective

Enhance students' observation skills, as well as their understanding of the functionality and importance of Observation Devices, through a fun and practical activity.

Detailed Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5 people, will create their own "observation devices" using simple materials, such as magnifying glasses, shoe boxes, mirrors, etc. They will then explore different environments (such as the classroom, the schoolyard, or even nature) and record the things they observed.

Required Materials

  • Magnifying glasses
  • Shoe boxes (or any other cardboard box)
  • Small mirrors
  • Paper and pencil for notes
  • Camera (can be a cell phone camera, if available)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Carrying Out the Activity

  1. Group Formation: Students should be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will be responsible for creating an "observation device" and conducting the observations.

  2. Creation of Observation Devices: Each group should use the available materials to create their own observation device. They can use creativity to develop something that facilitates observation of details.

  3. Exploration and Observation: Groups should choose a location to explore and observe. It can be the classroom, the schoolyard, or even nature. They should use the observation device to see things they would not normally be able to observe with the naked eye.

  4. Recording Observations: After making the observations, students should record what they saw. They can draw, write, or take photos. It is important that they be detailed in their notes.

  5. Presentation of Results: Each group should present their findings to the class. They should explain about their observation device, the location they chose to observe, and the things they saw. The presentation can be done creatively, with drawings, models, or even a small play!

Students should submit a simple report containing:
