Greetings, fantastic 5th grade class! Did you know that we use verbs in every conversation and piece of writing, every single day? That's right, they're present in everything we say or write! Verbs are magic words that help us express actions, feelings, desires, states, everything that happens in the world around us and within us. Isn't that amazing?

Have you ever stopped to think about how rich and detailed the Portuguese language is? And verbs are a very important part of this richness. They allow us to tell stories, describe things, talk about what happens, and even tell jokes! Without them, our language would be very different.

Introduction

In this project, we're going on a journey of discovery through the wonderful world of verbs. We're going to learn what they are, what they're for, how they're formed, and how they're used in different situations. Additionally, we'll see how they relate to other words in our language.

Verbs are divided into three main categories: action verbs, which express a physical or mental action, like running, studying, thinking; linking verbs, which show a state or condition, like being, being, appearing; and auxiliary verbs, which help to form compound verb tenses, like having, being, having.

Did you know that verbs can also change form? That's right, they agree with the subject of the sentence in number (singular or plural) and person (1st, 2nd or 3rd). And it doesn't end there, verbs can also change tense (past, present, future) and mood (indicative, subjunctive, imperative). Phew! That's a lot, isn't it?

But don't worry, this project is going to turn all of this into a fun and challenging game. We're going to divide you into groups and each group will become a team of verb world explorers. Together, we're going to learn, create, have fun and, most importantly, become true verb masters!

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Journey into the World of Verbs"

Project Objective

The main objective of this project is to explore and deepen knowledge about verbs, their classifications, forms, and uses. Additionally, it aims to develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, and problem solving.

Detailed Project Description

Each group of students will be responsible for creating a "Verb Wall" using recyclable materials and everything they have learned about the topic. The wall will be an interactive space where other students can learn and have fun with verbs!

Required Materials

• Large cardboard or poster board
• Old magazines
• Blunt scissors
• Glue
• Colored pens
• Tape
• Ruler

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members.

2. Study of Verbs: Each group should study the different types of verbs, their forms and uses, and write down the most important information.

3. Wall Planning: Together, the groups should plan how they will organize the information on the wall. Think about titles, colors, drawings, and other visual elements that can help explain the concepts.

4. Wall Creation: Using the cardboard or poster board, the groups will create their "Verb Wall". They should cut and paste words and images from magazines to represent the different verbs. They should also write down the information they researched in a clear and organized manner.

5. Wall Presentation: After the wall is finished, each group will have a chance to present it to the class. They will be able to explain what they learned, give examples of verbs, and answer questions from their classmates.

6. Interactive Activity: Finally, each group will propose an interactive activity related to verbs. It can be a game, a riddle, a crossword puzzle, whatever their creativity allows!

Submission Format

Each group should submit their completed "Verb Wall", with notes, images, and interactive activity. In addition, students should write a short report (on a separate sheet) about the teamwork process, what they learned about verbs, and what they liked most about the project.
