Therefore, understanding the connection between school and community is essential to better comprehend our role in the world around us.

In this project, we will explore the connection between the school and the community places. We will understand how these environments interact and influence each other. Through this study, we will enhance our English skills, as effective communication is an essential part of social interaction.

Introduction

The key concepts we will address in this project include the school, the community, and the relationship between them.

The school, in its broadest sense, is not just a physical place of learning. It is the space where we are introduced to new ideas, build relationships, and begin to understand and interact with society. Here, we will delve into the vocabulary related to school and school life in English.

The community, on the other hand, is a group of people living together in a specific location. It can refer to a small neighborhood as well as an entire city. In this project, you will explore the English vocabulary related to the community and the various places that compose it.

The relationship between the school and the community is complex and interdependent. The school is an integral part of the community, and vice versa. Both influence and shape each other. This relationship will be the focus of our study in this project.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: 'Our School, Our Community'

Project Objective:

Develop an online interactive map of the school and the neighborhood it belongs to, with descriptions and stories in English. The project is for groups of 3 to 5 students and should take each participating student about five to ten hours to complete. The deadline for submission is one month.

Detailed Project Description:

Students should create an online interactive map of the school and the community it is part of. This map should include important locations such as classrooms, gymnasium, school library, cafeteria, as well as significant places in the community like the square, the municipal library, the local market, etc. For each location marked on the map, students must write a detailed description in English, including aspects such as the importance of the location, the history associated with it, and its specific characteristics. Additionally, students should include at least one personal story or memory associated with each location, also written in English.

Required Materials:

To carry out the project, students will need:

1. Internet access
2. An online platform for creating interactive maps (such as Google My Maps, for example)
3. Books and online resources for research
4. A camera or cell phone to take photos of the places that will be included on the map

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Completion:

1. Group Formation: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group should choose a leader who will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the work.

2. Research: Each group should research the school and the community, collecting information about the main locations that will be included on the map.

3. Map Creation: Using an online platform, students should create the map of their school and community, marking each significant location.

4. Description of Locations: For each location marked on the map, students should write a detailed description in English, explaining the importance of the location and providing interesting information about it.

5. Stories and Memories: In addition to the descriptions, students should write a personal story or memory associated with each location.
