Project Objective

Detailed Project Description
Groups will be tasked with thoroughly researching and studying two climate zones of their choice. This should include a detailed description of the geographic factors that influence each zone's climate, the associated climate phenomena, and a case study of how one of these phenomena impacted human life in a specific historical climate-related event.
Materials Needed
The only material requirement for this project is access to the internet for research purposes. Groups can use computers, tablets, or phones for this purpose.
Step-by-Step Activity Instructions

Form groups of 3-5 students.

Have each group choose two distinct climate zones to study.

Research the geographic factors that influence the climate of each zone. This should include elements such as latitude, altitude, ocean currents, prevailing winds, and the topography of the land.

Identify and study the major climate phenomena associated with each zone. This could include elements such as monsoons, hurricanes, droughts, floods, etc.

For each climate phenomenon, find a historical event where that phenomenon had a significant impact on people and the environment. Research that event in detail.

Prepare a presentation that includes your findings for each climate zone. The presentation should include a map of the region, a description of the geographic factors that influence the climate, an analysis of the associated climate phenomena, and a case study of a historical climate-related event.

Write a detailed report that documents your project's progress. The report should include introduction, development, conclusion, and bibliography sections.
- The Introduction should provide context for the topic, its relevance and real-world application, and the purpose of the project.

- In the Conclusion, students should restate the main points of the work, describe what was learned, and draw conclusions about the project.
