Activity Title: Illustrating Life with Graphs
Project Objective
The project aims to create a PowerPoint presentation in which students must use their knowledge of graphs to represent and discuss data related to two different themes: 1) Population evolution of the city where they live and 2) A topic of the group's choice related to the Science discipline (Example: Climate Change, Biodiversity, Pollution, etc.).
Project Description
Students should form groups of 3 to 5 members and will work together over 4 weeks. The project is multidisciplinary and will mainly involve Mathematics and Science, but may also involve Geography, History, and Portuguese Language.

In the first week, students will research the population evolution of the city where they live. They should collect data from the last 10 years. This data should be represented in a bar or column graph. Students should discuss in the presentation why they chose this type of graph, how it was developed, and what their data represents.

In the second week, students should choose a topic from the Science discipline. They should research and collect data on this topic and represent it in a bar or column graph. In the presentation, they should also discuss why they chose this type of graph, how it was developed, and what the data represents.

In the third week, students will start preparing the PowerPoint presentation. They should include in the presentation the description of the chosen themes, the developed graphs, explanations about the graph-making process, and discussions about what the data represents.

In the fourth and final week, students will finalize the presentation and present it to the class. They should be prepared to answer questions from the teacher and classmates.
