Context
Numeric sets are groupings of numbers that have specific properties, creating the basis for most mathematical operations we learn and apply in our daily lives. In this project, we will focus on the following sets: Natural Numbers, Integers, Rationals, Irrationals, and Reals.
Natural Numbers are the first ones we learn, as we use them to count. Integers include negatives, allowing us to understand how subtraction can result in negative numbers. Rationals are numbers that can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, helping us understand divisions that do not result in an exact integer. Irrationals are numbers that cannot be expressed as a fraction of two integers, being essential when working with concepts like roots and values that never end, such as Pi. Finally, Real Numbers encompass all the previous ones and represent the numerical reality we live in.
Mathematics and its numeric sets are essential for various daily activities. When going to the supermarket, we use natural numbers to count items, integers and rationals when dealing with money and change, and even irrationals when calculating the area of a round pizza, for example! Therefore, understanding these different numeric sets and their properties is crucial for our daily lives, as well as for more advanced concepts in exact sciences and engineering.

This project aims to:

Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 and will be tasked with becoming true "Explorers of Numeric Sets." Each group will create a physical or virtual presentation on numeric sets, addressing definitions, characteristics, examples, and the relationships between them. Additionally, each group will develop and present three contextualized problems for each type of numeric set, along with their respective solutions and explanations.

- Conclusion: A recap of the main points of the project, as well as a reflection on the learnings and conclusions drawn about the theme of numeric sets.
