Activity Title: Modeling Modular Functions
Project Objective
The objective of this activity is to deeply understand the properties of the modular function and its practical applications, as well as to promote collaborative work and time management.
Detailed Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people and will explore the concept of modular function through a playful activity of graphic modeling. Each group must then build a 3D model of a modular function graph using recyclable materials of their choice.
Required Materials
- Various recyclable materials for building the 3D model
- Paper and pencil for sketching
- Ruler or protractor
- Internet for research
- Camera to document the process
Detailed Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity
Step 1: Research
Based on the theoretical introduction and support resources, each group should research and discuss in detail about the modular function, its concept, properties, and applications.
Step 2: Planning
The groups should then plan and sketch how they will build their 3D model of the modular function graph. This plan should include a list of necessary materials and a detailed description of the steps to be followed.
Step 3: Construction
The groups will build the 3D model, documenting the entire process through photos or videos. This process should be collaborative, with all group members participating.
Step 4: Documentation
Each group should then prepare a detailed report on the activity carried out, including the following topics:
- Introduction: The student should contextualize the concept and function of the module, its relevance and real-world application as well as the objective of this project.
- Development: The student should explain the theory behind the modular function, describe the activity in detail, including the plan, construction process, and challenges encountered, as well as present and discuss the results obtained.
- Conclusion: The student should conclude the work by summarizing its main points, explaining the learnings obtained, and drawing conclusions about the project.
- Bibliography: The student should indicate the sources consulted to work on the project, such as books, web pages, videos, etc.
Step 5: Presentation
Each group will give a presentation to the class on the activity carried out, showing the built 3D model and discussing their report.
Note: This activity should be carried out over a week, with an estimated time of two to four hours per student.
