On the other hand, verse, which is the basis of poetry, is characterized by a more elaborate language, with rhythm, sound, and sensory images, aiming to evoke sensations and feelings in the reader.

Importance and Real-World Application

Understanding the differences between prose and verse is essential to appreciate, analyze, and create literary texts. More than that, it is important to develop a critical view of the world because literature, in all its forms, is a way for us to understand ourselves and the world around us.

Through the study of texts in prose and verse, we can better understand how language works and how it can be manipulated to create different effects. This can make us more critical readers and more skilled writers. Furthermore, in an increasingly connected world, where the written word gains more prominence, the ability to express oneself clearly, creatively, and impactfully is an extremely valued skill.

Additionally, each group will also create an original literary piece, again one in prose and the other in verse, addressing a theme previously defined by the teacher.

• Digital text editing tools (such as Google Docs) to write the literary pieces.

1. Research and selection of classic work (1 to 2 hours): Each group should research and choose a classic literary work that is either a prose or verse text.

2. Study and analysis of the chosen work (2 to 3 hours): Students should read the chosen work and identify its main characteristics, whether in prose or verse. They should also discuss the author's intentions and style.

3. Transformation of the work (2 to 3 hours): Students should then work together to transform the chosen work into the opposite modality (prose into verse and vice versa). They should maintain the essence of the story but reconstruct it according to the characteristics of the new modality.
