Project Objective

The objective of this project is to deepen the understanding and ability to use conjunctions in English through the creation of a practical guide to conjunctions, with real and contextual examples, and the execution of an interactive theatrical game called 'Connect with Conjunctions'.

Detailed Project Description

This project is divided into two parts: 1) the elaboration of a 'Practical Guide to Conjunctions' and 2) the execution of an interactive theatrical game called 'Connect with Conjunctions'. Both parts will be carried out in groups of 3 to 5 students and should last, in total, around 12 to 15 hours of work for each participant.

1. Paper and pens;
2. Internet access for research;
3. Printer (optional for guide production);
4. Set and items for the theatrical game (up to the creativity of the students).

Step by Step

1. Practical Guide to Conjunctions: Each group of students must research and compile a practical guide with all the conjunctions in English, divided into the three main groups (Coordinating, Correlative, and Subordinating Conjunctions). For each conjunction, the guide should include: definition, proper usage, and at least two examples of sentences using the conjunction. The guide can be illustrated and formatted according to the group's choice, but it must be clear and easy to understand. The group can use various sources for the guide's elaboration, including the suggested resources in the introduction, but always citing the references in a bibliography.

2. Connect with Conjunctions: After completing the guide, the groups must conceive and perform a theatrical game. The game will consist of a series of quick 'scenes', each requiring participants to use one or more conjunctions to connect ideas or events in the scene. The scenes can be of any genre (comedy, drama, mystery, etc.) and the sets of conjunctions to be used must be drawn before the scene begins. The goal is to create a cohesive and logical text using the drawn conjunctions.

Students will have to write a detailed document containing:

1. Introduction: Succinctly explaining the project's purpose and the relevance of conjunctions in English.

2. Development: Detailing the process of creating the practical guide and the theatrical game, the problems encountered and how they were solved, the decisions made by the group and why, and the methodology used. It should also contain a summary and analysis of the theatrical game results, as well as practical examples taken from the game.
