Morality, essential for harmonious coexistence in society, is a system of beliefs and values that guide and underpin human actions. Several philosophers have delved into the question of morality, such as Socrates, Aristotle, Kant, and Nietzsche. Through their elaborations, they sought to understand the principles that govern our choices and actions.

Throughout history, various cultures and societies have built their moral systems based on traditions, customs, religious beliefs, among others. Furthermore, our understanding of morality is deeply affected by historical processes, acquiring different characteristics in different periods and contexts.

The philosophical approach to morality allows us to go beyond a simple adoption of behavioral rules or ethical precepts. It invites us to understand and critically reflect on how and why certain actions are considered morally right or wrong. From this reflection, we can think of ways to improve our moral behavior, both individually and collectively.

Morality is a concept deeply embedded in our daily lives. It influences not only personal decisions but also legal procedures, social rules, and corporate practices. Lack of morality can lead to harmful behaviors, injustices, and inequalities. On the other hand, a proper understanding and application of morality can promote mutual respect, justice, and social harmony.

In this sense, understanding the construction of morality is essential to comprehend how societies are organized, and how we can, as individuals, act ethically. This project aims to provide an immersion in the concepts of morality through a practical and stimulating activity, allowing students to delve into the topic and enhance their analytical and debating skills.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: The Art of Morality: Building a Philosophical Dialogue

Project Objective

This activity aims to provide students with the opportunity to explore the concepts of morality in an interactive and creative way, while developing skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, among others.

Detailed Project Description

In this activity, students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will be tasked with creating a philosophical dialogue that explores key issues of morality. This dialogue should reflect different philosophical perspectives and demonstrate how morality is constructed and applied in the context of everyday life.

The activity should be carried out over a week, with a workload of approximately two to four hours per student.

• Internet access for research
• Paper and pen for notes and drafts
• Text editing software (Word, Google Docs, etc.)

Detailed Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity

1. Each group must choose at least three philosophers from different eras and their respective views on morality.
2. Based on these choices, students must research in detail the ideas of each selected philosopher.
3. Each group must develop a scenario from everyday life in which the morality views of the chosen philosophers come into conflict or collaboration.
4. From the chosen scenario, students must create a dialogue in which the characters represent the chosen philosophers and their views of morality.
5. The group must ensure that the dialogue includes a debate that explores the construction of morality and the application of these concepts in daily life.
6. After creating the dialogue, each group must reflect on the creation process and what they have learned about morality and the ideas of the philosophers they chose.
7. Finally, each group must prepare a written report detailing the creation process, the discoveries, and the understanding gained about morality.

About the report:

• Introduction: Should contextualize the theme of morality, its importance for society, the chosen philosophers, and the work's objective.
• Development: Should detail the ideas of morality of each chosen philosopher, the conception of the dialogue, the research and creation process, as well as address the methodology used and the results achieved.
• Conclusion: Should summarize the main points of the work, reflect on the learning obtained, and draw conclusions about morality based on the development of the philosophical dialogue.
• Bibliography: Should list all research sources used for the work, including books, web pages, videos, among others.

Project Deliverables

Students must submit the written philosophical dialogue and the report detailing the activity's development process and the conclusions obtained. The report must follow the structure of introduction, development, and conclusion, in addition to including the bibliography used for the project.

This practical activity aims to work on the concepts of morality in an interactive and playful way. Furthermore, writing the dialogue and the report aims to develop skills in written expression, critical analysis, research, and teamwork.
