Practical Activity: Exploring Spatial Dilation

Project Objectives

In this activity, you will work in groups of 3 to 5 people to develop a project that explores spatial dilation. You will be challenged to create a three-dimensional model that illustrates spatial dilation and present this model in a short educational video.

Additionally, each group will have to prepare a report in the format of a scientific paper, detailing the theory of spatial dilation, describing their model, discussing the results and conclusions drawn, as well as presenting the bibliography used.

Detailed Project Description

Each group must create a three-dimensional model that illustrates spatial dilation. To do this, you can use recyclable or low-cost materials such as cardboard, wire, plastic, etc. The model must adhere to the principles of spatial dilation and be sufficiently didactic to be understood by your classmates.

Once the model is completed, each group must create a 3-5 minute video explaining their model and how it demonstrates spatial dilation. The video should be clear, engaging, and educational.

Necessary Materials

  • Recyclable or low-cost materials
  • Tools for constructing the model (scissors, glue, adhesive tape, etc.)
  • Camera or cell phone for recording the video

Step by Step

  1. Form a group of 3 to 5 students.

  2. Research spatial dilation. Try to understand the theory and its real-world implications.

  3. Together, plan and design a model that illustrates spatial dilation.

  4. Create the model using the materials at your disposal.

  5. Record a video explaining the model and how it demonstrates spatial dilation.
