Title of the Activity: Challenging Regency

Objective of the Project

The proposed activity aims at practical application of verbal regency concepts in real communication situations. The focus is both on theoretical understanding and on practical application of these concepts.

Detailed Description of the Project

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 participants. Each group will have to create a "Verbal Regency Manual", combining theory with practical examples within a thematic context chosen by them, such as "Verbal Regency in Music", "Verbal Regency in Children's Books", "Verbal Regency in Social Networks", among others.

Furthermore, the group will have to develop a theatrical presentation, using a script that exercises the correct use of verbal regency, thus demonstrating practical application of the studied concepts.

• Internet access for research
• Materials to elaborate the manual (paper, pens, etc.)
• Materials to elaborate the theatrical presentation (costumes, stage objects, etc.)

Detailed Step-by-Step to Perform the Activity

1. Students will divide themselves into groups of 3 to 5 members and choose a theme for their project.
2. Once the theme has been chosen, they must research and study the theory of verbal regency, seeking to understand the concepts of verb, regent term, governed term, direct object, indirect object and preposition, as well as how they interact and complement each other in a sentence.
3. Based on the theme and theoretical review, students will start building the "Verbal Regency Manual", bringing theoretical explanations (with references) and practical examples that relate to their theme.
4. The next step is creating the script for the theatrical presentation. Students must create it to evidence the correct use of verbal regency, according to the studied concepts.
5. With the script completed, students will rehearse and perform the theatrical presentation for the class.

The project deliverables are:

1. The "Verbal Regency Manual", containing a theoretical explanation and practical examples of the correct use of verbal regency, contextualized in the theme chosen by the group.
2. The theatrical presentation, evidencing the practical application of the concepts of verbal regency.
3. A written report containing:
   • Introduction: Relevance and application of verbal regency, contextualizing the chosen theme.
   • Development: Theoretical explanation of the concepts of verbal regency, description of the creation process of the manual and script of the theatrical presentation, discussion of obtained results and methodology used.
   • Conclusion: Recapitulation of the main points, lessons learned and conclusions drawn from the project.
   • Bibliography: Sources used in the project.

The activity should take over 12 hours per student to complete, involving research, studying, writing the manual, creating the script, rehearsals and theatrical presentation. In addition to Portuguese language discipline, the project also involves Arts, due to the elaboration and theatrical presentation.
