This project was created to help you better understand this concept and develop practical punctuation skills, especially in compound sentence situations. You will learn about commas, periods, semicolons, colons, among other punctuation marks, and their applications in different contexts.

In Portuguese language studies, topics such as conjunctions, coordination, subordination, and all their ramifications are essential for mastering punctuation in compound sentences. Therefore, in addition to pointing out the specificities of punctuation mark usage, this project will also provide practical exercises and theoretical discussions related to these topics.

Activity Title: "Punctuating Narratives: A Game of Construction and Correction"

Project Objective:

To learn and practice the appropriate use of punctuation marks in compound sentences, through the creation and correction of a narrative text. The objective is also to enhance teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Detailed Project Description:

The project is divided into two phases: in the first one, groups will create an original narrative. In the second phase, they will exchange their narratives with another group for punctuation correction.

Required Materials:

• Notebook or sheets of paper for writing the narrative.
• Pens, pencils, and/or correction fluid for corrections.
• Internet access for research and study.
• Books, articles, websites, and other grammatical reference resources.

Detailed Step-by-Step:

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will have one month to complete the project.

2. In the first week, groups should study the theoretical content on punctuation in compound sentences, focusing on concepts such as conjunctions, coordination, and subordination.

3. In the second week, each group should create an original fiction narrative with a length of 1000 to 1500 words. The goal of this exercise is to build a story with many compound sentences, using various conjunctions to connect clauses. The story can be of any genre (adventure, fantasy, romance, etc.), and should be written in a way that punctuation in compound sentences is incorrect or missing.

4. In the third week, groups exchange their narratives. The goal now is to correct the punctuation of the story they received, based on what they learned about punctuation in compound sentences.

5. In the fourth week, groups should finalize the corrections and prepare a report on the work.

Project Deliverables:

1. The original narrative, handwritten or typed, with corrected punctuation.

2. A final report in the following format:

• Introduction: Contextualization of the study on punctuation in compound sentences, relevance of this knowledge for written communication, and project objectives.

• Development: Discussion on the concept of compound sentences and punctuation theory, detailed methodology description, description of the original created narrative and the received corrected narrative, and analysis of the results obtained.

• Conclusions: Reflection on the learnings, challenges, and teamwork collaboration. Comments on the effectiveness of the activity in learning punctuation in compound sentences and possible applications of this skill in other situations.

• Bibliography: List of reference sources used, such as books, websites, videos, among others.

The report can be submitted in written or digital form, as instructed by the teacher.
