Project Goal

Students will, in groups of 3 to 5 members, thoroughly investigate sulfonated functions, explore their practical applications in everyday life and in the industry, and develop a detailed report on the project.

Detailed Description of the Project

The project will be divided into four main parts: theoretical research, laboratory investigation, real-world application, and report writing.

  1. Theoretical research: Students will research the fundamental concepts of sulfonated functions, including their structure, properties, nomenclature, and identification. They should also explore the role of sulfur in these functions and in organic chemistry in general.

  2. Laboratory investigation: With the supervision of the teacher, students will conduct experiments in the laboratory to observe and analyze some properties of sulfonated functions, such as acid-base behavior and reactivity. This will allow them to connect the theory studied with practice.
