Project Objective

This project aims to deepen students' understanding of the decolonization of Africa and Asia, encouraging research, critical thinking, creative expression, and teamwork.

Students will work in groups of 3 to 5 people to create a documentary that critically and reflectively addresses the decolonization processes in Africa and Asia.

Detailed Project Description

This work will involve historical research, script writing, filming, and editing a documentary. Additionally, students will produce a comprehensive report to detail the theory behind the project's themes, discuss the activities carried out, and present the conclusions.

The documentary should cover at least four main topics:

1. The global historical context during the decolonization period (Cold War, human rights movements, etc.);
2. The specific historical process of decolonization in Africa and Asia;
3. The effects of decolonization and its reverberations in the present day;
4. The forms of resistance, both violent and peaceful, of African and Asian peoples against colonialism.

The documentary should integrate the disciplines of History and Geography, exploring both the historical aspects and the geographical implications of this period.

Step-by-Step

1. Start with a brainstorming session to define how the group plans to approach the decolonization topic.
2. Divide tasks among group members. Ensure that each person has a role in research, script writing, filming, and editing the documentary.
3. Research the four main topics mentioned above. Use the recommended bibliography and seek other reliable sources.
4. With the gathered information, create a script for the documentary, deciding how each part will be presented.
5. Carry out the filming, following the script and making necessary adjustments.
6. Edit the documentary, adding any extra material (additional images, music, etc.).
7. Watch the final documentary as a group and make final adjustments.
8. Write the report, detailing the documentary creation process, the theory behind the theme, the activities carried out, and the conclusions.

Project Deliverables

Students must deliver the finalized documentary and the written report.

The report should be formatted as follows:

1. Introduction: Provide context for the theme, its relevance and real-world application, as well as the objective of this project.
2. Development: Explain the theory behind the decolonization of Africa and Asia, describe the activities carried out and the methodology used to create the documentary, and present and discuss the results obtained.
3. Conclusion: Summarize the main points discussed in the documentary and report, and explicitly state the learnings and conclusions drawn about the decolonization process.
4. Bibliography: List the sources used during research and documentary creation.
