This project will be developed by groups of 3 to 5 students and should last about 3 weeks. The project will encompass not only the discipline of Portuguese but also History and Arts in its execution.

Necessary Materials:

• Internet access for research and group communication;
• Reference books on the topic;
• Computer with text editing software for report production;
• Materials for creating scenarios and costumes (recyclable materials that students already have at home are preferable);

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:

1. Students will start by researching linguistic varieties, conceptualizing language, linguistics, and linguistic variations. They should search not only in reference books but also in reliable websites and educational videos. This research should result in a synthesis that will be used in the Introduction of the final report.

2. Next, students should choose a specific linguistic variety to deepen their studies. They should research its characteristics, origin, cultural and social influences, uses, etc. This research should be incorporated into the Development section of the report.

3. The group should then write a theatrical piece that demonstrates the use of this linguistic variety in different contexts - formal, informal, among people from the same linguistic community, among people from different linguistic communities, etc.

4. Additionally, the piece should incorporate aspects of the history and culture of the chosen linguistic community, connecting the disciplines of Portuguese and History. The script of the play should be included in the report.

5. The group should then produce scenarios and costumes for the play, involving the Arts discipline. Photos of the scenarios and costumes should be included in the report.

6. The group should then rehearse and perform the play, either in a virtual environment or in the classroom. A recording of the performance should be made and critically analyzed, with the findings included in the Development section of the report.

7. Finally, the group should finalize the report, including the Conclusions and Bibliography sections. The Conclusions should comment on the process of creating the play and what the group learned about linguistic varieties.
