Activity Title: Project 'Interpretation'
Project Objective
The 'Interpretation' project aims to challenge students to interpret and analyze texts of different genres in a playful and collaborative way. In addition, the project aims to integrate concepts of Literature and Sociology, allowing students to contextualize the interpretation of texts within their historical, social, and cultural context.
Detailed Project Description
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people, and each group will choose, or receive from the teaching team, a textual genre to work on (short story, chronicle, poetry, etc).
The project will be divided into four stages:
- Research and Analysis
- Dramatization
- Discussion and Reflection
- Report Development
Each of these stages will require a certain level of collaboration and teamwork, as well as individual skills.
Necessary Materials
- Texts in different literary genres
- Internet access for research
- Materials for scenography (optional)
- Camera for recording (a smartphone is sufficient)
Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution
Stage 1: Research and Analysis
Groups will research the chosen textual genre, its structure, characteristics, and representative authors. They must choose a text within this genre to be the focus of the next stage.
Stage 2: Dramatization
Students must create a dramatization of the chosen text. This may involve staging a short story or chronicle, reciting a poem, etc. The idea is for them to interpret the text in a creative and engaging way.
Stage 3: Discussion and Reflection
After the dramatization, groups must lead a discussion about the text. They should analyze the historical, social, and cultural context of the text and how it influences the interpretation. This discussion should be recorded on video.
Stage 4: Report Development
Finally, students must write a report following the suggested structure (Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography). In this report, they should report on the work process, the research conducted, the discussions and reflections, and the conclusions reached.
Project Deliverables
Project deliverables include:
- The video of the dramatization and discussion
- The written report
The video will not only demonstrate the students' ability to interpret the text in a creative way but also their discussion and analysis skills.
The report will allow students to articulate their ideas in a more formal and academic manner. It should contain the theoretical analysis of the text, the discussion and conclusions reached by the group, as well as citing the research sources.
Thus, the 'Interpretation' project aims to engage students in a playful and creative process of text interpretation while developing their research, analysis, discussion, and writing skills.
