Practical Activity: "Pronouns in Action"

Project Goal

The goal of this project is for students to gain a deeper understanding of relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns by developing a short play script where the pronouns are the main characters.

Detailed Project Description

Groups of 3 to 5 students will be challenged to present the practical application of pronouns in everyday situations by creating and performing a play script. Each group must create a script of 10 to 15 minutes, with dialogs that require the use of relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns.

The play must tell a story in which the characters communicate using these types of pronouns and demonstrate the meaning and context in which each pronoun is applied.

Materials Required

1. Paper and pen for script creation.
2. Books, websites, and other resources for research.
3. Any materials that students want to use for scenery, costumes, sound effects, etc.

Detailed Step-by-Step

1. Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Each group should choose an everyday situation to be the theme for their play.
3. Conduct in-depth research on relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns.
4. Write a script for the play, using the researched pronouns.
5. Rehearse the play until you feel confident in performing it.
6. Present the play to the class.

The activity should be carried out over a period of one month, with an estimated 5 to 10 hours of work for each student.

At the end of the project, in addition to the play performance, each group must submit:

1. A written document containing: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.

• Introduction: Provides context for the topic addressed and its importance for Portuguese grammar. Describe the goal of the project and the method chosen to carry it out.

• Development: Explains the theory behind relative, indefinite, and interrogative pronouns and discusses how each step of the project was carried out. Present and discuss the script created and how each pronoun was used within it.

• Conclusion: Reiterate the importance of the project, the main lessons learned, and the experiences acquired during its execution. Discuss the application of pronouns in the play and the challenges of incorporating them into the dialogs.

• Bibliography: List all research sources used to create the script and prepare the written report.

These deliverables aim to exercise and evaluate writing, research, teamwork, and practical application of grammatical concepts.
