In this project, we will explore a fundamental theme for the structure of the Portuguese language: transitive and intransitive verbs. In the grammatical universe, verbs are actions, states, or phenomena and are the core of the predicate in sentences. But, did you know that they are divided into several categories? One of these divisions refers to transitivity, separating verbs into transitive and intransitive.

Transitive verbs are characterized by needing a complement - which can be a direct or indirect object - for the sentence's meaning to be complete. On the other hand, intransitive verbs have a complete meaning on their own and do not need a complement to make sense. Examples of transitive verbs are: love, buy, take. Examples of intransitive verbs are: die, be born, fall.

You have certainly used many of these in your daily communication without even realizing it! However, it is important to be aware of these concepts as they help us improve our writing and reading skills, as well as being very useful when learning a new language.

Verbs, being words of action, state, and phenomenon, are the engine of language, making sentences progress and stories happen. When you understand the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs, you enhance your understanding of the grammatical structure of Portuguese and improve your ability to interpret texts and articulate thoughts clearly and precisely.

But it's not only in school that these concepts are relevant. Imagine if you were writing a resume or a letter: a good use of verbs can make all the difference between conveying a confusing message or exactly what you want to express. Project Objective

The objective of this project is to identify the transitivity of verbs used in texts and produce a text using these verbs correctly.

Detailed Project Description

In this project, teams will create a cohesive narrative that uses transitive and intransitive verbs. The story will be divided into three parts: introduction, development, and conclusion. Each part must contain at least ten verbs, five transitive and five intransitive.

To make the project stages more fun and interesting, we suggest that each team create a literary genre (fantasy, suspense, science fiction, romance, etc.) for their narrative and produce a short video representing the created story.

Required Materials

• Paper and pen for drafting the story.
• Books, dictionaries, or internet access for verb research.
• Smartphone with a camera for video recording.

Detailed Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity

1. Firstly, teams should gather and choose the literary genre of their story.

2. Next, participants should research using the provided resources to find transitive and intransitive verbs they want to use in their story.

3. With the selected verbs, teams should outline the introduction, development, and conclusion of the story. Remember: each part must contain at least ten verbs, five transitive and five intransitive.

4. After writing the story, teams should create the video script. At this point, students should assign roles among the team members (who will be the narrator, who will act, who will film, etc.).

5. With the script in hand, it's time for recording. Be creative! Use settings, costumes, and sound effects to make the story even more interesting.

6. Finally, teams should write a report containing the following topics:

   • Introduction: Describe the chosen literary genre, the narrative structure (introduction, development, and conclusion), and the relevance of transitive and intransitive verbs in structuring the story.
   • Development: Describe the theory of transitive and intransitive verbs, explain the methodology used in the activity, and present the created story.
   • Conclusion: Highlight the learnings obtained during the project, the challenges faced, and the solutions adopted by the team.

Project Delivery
