Welcome to our project on 'The Account of Lived Experience'. This project aims to explore students' ability to understand, analyze, and express lived experiences through the Portuguese language, promoting active participation in society and respect for others and diversity of opinions.

The account of lived experience is a common form of communication in our daily lives. It involves the ability to narrate events that have happened to us or to others, paying attention to details, emotions, and feelings involved. The ability to convey these events in a understandable and interesting way is a valuable skill in academic and professional life.

In this project, we delve into two main topics: the account of one's own experience and the account of others' experiences. Both involve the ability to narrate events, but with a notable difference: in the account of one's own experience, we are the protagonists of the story, while in the account of others' experiences, we are transmitting the story of another person.

Contextualization

Reporting lived experiences is a constant practice in our lives, whether in conversations with friends and family, on social media, or in academic work. This skill is a way to share our experiences and learnings, and also to better understand the experiences of others. Furthermore, reporting lived experiences helps develop empathy, understanding, creativity, and articulation.

The account of lived experience also has practical applications in various areas, such as literature, journalism, psychology, history, etc. For example, in journalism, reporting another person's experience is a way to bring a story to life. In psychology, the account of lived experiences is a key tool for self-awareness and personal development.

Practical Activity: 'Real Life Protagonists'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to allow students the opportunity to experience and practice the skills of reporting their own experiences and those of others.

Project Description

In this project, each group of students must create two pieces of media: a video, where they report an experience lived by one of the group members (account of one's own experience) and a blog, where they tell the story of a personality or character they admire (account of others' experiences). Both productions must follow narrative principles, with well-defined introduction, development, and conclusion.

Necessary Materials

The project requires:

• Device for video recording, which can be a cell phone, a digital camera, or even a computer's webcam.
• Internet access for research and blog publication.
• Video editing software or application, which can be any free program available.

Step by Step

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group must select who will be the protagonist of the story for the video and which personality or character will be the focus for the blog.

2. Each group must conduct detailed research on the chosen personality for the blog, collecting enough information to tell their story.

3. Students must write scripts for the video and the blog, detailing the sequence of events, the description of actions, the emotions involved, and the context in which the stories took place.

4. After the scripts are approved by the teacher, the groups must proceed to record the video and write the blog. Remember that both must be clear, precise, and engaging.

5. After finishing the video recording and editing, the groups must post the video and blog online and share the links with the class and the teacher.

6. Finally, each group must prepare a 5-minute presentation explaining the production process of the video and blog.

Project Delivery

The final result of this project consists of a video telling a personal experience, a blog narrating the life of a personality, and a presentation on the production process. In addition, the groups must submit a written report detailing the project's steps and conclusions.

This report should include:

• Introduction: briefly introducing the group members, the activity's objective, and the video and blog's theme;
• Development: explaining the theory of narrative experiences, the methodology used to build the scripts, the video production, and blog writing, as well as a discussion of the results;
• Conclusion: summarizing the main points presented in the development, the learnings obtained, and the conclusions drawn about the project;
• Bibliography: mentioning all information sources used for the project, including those consulted to write the video and blog scripts and to compose the report.

All these deliveries should reflect the collaboration among group members and the understanding of the technical and socio-emotional skills introduced in this project.
