North America includes the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It is a very diverse region where culture, economy, and geography vary greatly. Central America is made up of seven countries and is marked by a rich and vibrant culture, as well as breathtaking natural landscapes. South America, composed of 12 countries, is also very diverse, with a mix of indigenous, European, and African cultures, as well as an economy based on agriculture and mineral extraction.

Practical Activity: 'Exploring the Regionalization of America'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to encourage collaboration among students to investigate and discover more about the regionalization of America. Students will have to research and analyze the distinct characteristics of each region (North America, Central America, and South America), including population, urban, political, economic, and environmental aspects.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be responsible for choosing one country from each region of America (one from North America, one from Central America, and one from South America). They will then investigate and analyze these countries, focusing on population, urbanization, politics, economy, culture, and environmental issues.

Required Materials

The project requires internet access for research, paper and pen for notes, and a presentation software such as PowerPoint or Google Slides to present the results.

Project Step-by-Step

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students.

2. Each group should choose one country from each of the three regions of America to be the focus of their research.

3. Students should then start their research on each country, including its population, urbanization, politics, economy, culture, and environmental issues.

4. Each group should create a presentation summarizing their findings. The presentation should include:

   • General information about each country (location, capital, population, etc)
   • An analysis of the political, economic, and cultural characteristics of each country
   • A discussion on the environmental issues faced by each country

5. The document accompanying the presentation should be structured as follows:

   • Introduction: In this section, students should contextualize the theme, the project's relevance, and the activity's objective.
   • Development: Here, it is essential to detail the information about the chosen countries, explain the activities carried out, the methodology used, and the results obtained.
   • Conclusion: Students should conclude the work by summarizing their main points, explaining the learnings obtained, and drawing conclusions about the project.
   • Bibliography: Indicate the sources used.

6. After completing the research and preparing the presentation and report, each group will present their findings in the classroom.

The project submission should be a slide presentation, along with a written report including Introduction, Development, Conclusion, and Bibliography. The report should follow the guidelines given above and complement the information presented in the slide presentation.

This project will require about 2 to 4 hours per student to complete and has a one-week deadline for submission. In addition to assessing students' knowledge, the project will also be evaluated based on teamwork, time management, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
