Understanding how the human body functions, the formation of a new being, and how we can prevent diseases and unwanted pregnancies is fundamental in the formation of a citizen. Understanding these processes allows us to make more informed choices, as well as providing knowledge that can be useful in various aspects of life, from personal health decisions to determining public policies.

Understanding human reproduction is therefore much more than learning about the life cycle. It is understanding how life is created, how we can influence this process, and how we can prevent the spread of diseases. It is essential knowledge for everyone, regardless of profession or lifestyle.

Activity Title: The Theater of Human Reproduction

Project Objective

To understand and explain in a playful and creative way the key concepts of human reproduction, including the male and female reproductive systems, the menstrual cycle, fertilization, pregnancy and childbirth, as well as prevention against sexually transmitted diseases and contraceptive methods.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 4 to 5 members. Each group will be responsible for creating a theater play that addresses the key concepts of human reproduction.

The idea is for students to use characters, scenarios, and dialogues to explain the biological processes and also address the sociocultural, ethical, and emotional dimensions of human reproduction.

The script of the play should be well elaborated, with a beginning, middle, and end, and of course, it should be creative and engaging.

Required Materials

• Paper and pen for the script
• Materials for building the set and costumes for the characters (this is a moment to be creative, you can use recyclables, old clothes, etc.)
• A recording device (can be a smartphone)

Detailed Step-by-Step

1. Brainstorm: Gather your group and discuss ideas for the play. Remember that you need to address the key concepts of human reproduction and also the preventive aspects.

2. Planning and Research: Make a list of the concepts you want to address in your play. Use the provided resources to research more about these topics. Remember to focus on how you can present these concepts clearly and interestingly in your script.

3. Script: Write the script of the play. Include detailed descriptions of each scene and dialogues for each character. Remember that your script should be not only educational but also engaging and creative.

4. Costumes and Set: Plan and create your costumes and set. You can be as simple or extravagant as you want, as long as it helps to tell the story of your play.

5. Rehearsal and Recording: Rehearse the play several times before recording. Once you feel comfortable, record the play.

6. Editing: Edit the recording to ensure that everything is clear and easy to understand.

7. Presentation: Each group will present their play and explain the reasons for the choices made during the creation process to the class.

8. Report: After the completion of the play, each group must write a report detailing their approach to the project, the challenges faced, how they worked together as a team, and the main conclusions drawn. The report should include the following sections: Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and Bibliography.

This report should have the following sections: Introduction, where they will explain the project's objective and its real-world relevance; Development, in which they will detail the activities carried out in detail, showing theory in practice and reporting the results obtained; Conclusions, where they will review the main points addressed and explain the learnings and conclusions drawn about the project; and Bibliography, citing all sources used for the project.
