All of these are very important skills not only for the development of good writers but also for the development of conscious and participative citizens.

The chronicle is a form of literature that is very present in people's daily lives, mainly through newspapers and news websites. Every day, thousands of chronicles are published and read by people around the world. These texts help shape public opinion, disseminate information, foster debates, and promote reflection on various topics.

Furthermore, the chronicle plays an important role in the reader's education, as it is a genre that is very close to people's reality and can address complex topics in a light and accessible way. The chronicle also contributes to the development of writing, reading, and text interpretation skills, which are fundamental skills for the development of any individual.

Practical Activity - Creation of a Collaborative Chronicle

Project Objective

The purpose of this project is to empower students to understand and apply the theoretical concepts related to the chronicle, through the creation of an original chronicle in a group. This will involve researching, understanding, planning, writing, revising, and presenting a chronicle.

Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 participants, and each group will be assigned to create and present an original chronicle on a theme of their choice. The chronicle should be related to everyday life, written in a colloquial manner, and have a personal perspective on the theme. In addition, the chronicle should have an attractive title, good textual organization, and follow the norms of the Portuguese language.

Necessary Materials

• Notebook or sheets of paper to sketch ideas.
• Computer with a word processor for the final writing of the chronicle.
• Internet access for research on the theme and consultation of examples of chronicles.
• Colored markers, post-its, or other visual tools to aid in planning.

Step by Step

1. Research: The team must research what a chronicle is, its characteristics, types, and examples of chronicles. Students should take notes on what they consider important to understand what a chronicle is and how to write one.

2. Planning: The team must discuss and choose a theme for the chronicle. Then, the students must plan together the content of the chronicle, defining the structure, plot, characters, and style of the chronicle.

3. Writing: Each student must write a part of the chronicle according to the plan established in the previous step. Then, the team must meet again to put together and review the written parts, making the necessary changes to make the chronicle cohesive and fluent.

4. Revision and Editing: The team must revise the chronicle, checking grammar, spelling, language use, clarity, coherence, and cohesion. It is essential to ensure that the chronicle follows the characteristics and structure of a chronicle and that the text is interesting and engaging.

5. Preparation of the Presentation: The team must prepare a presentation of the chronicle for the class. The presentation should include reading the chronicle and an explanation of the creation process, including the choice of theme, planning, division of work, challenges encountered, and how they were resolved.

6. Presentation: The team must present the chronicle and the creation process to the class.

7. Writing the Report: Each student must individually write a report on the project, addressing the introduction (contextualization of the theme, relevance, real-world application, and project objective), development (theory, activity, methodology, results), conclusion (learnings, conclusions about the project), and bibliography.

Connection to Project Deliverables

The final product of this project will be the collaborative chronicle and the presentation to the class, which allow students to apply and demonstrate their knowledge of the chronicle and their writing, collaboration, and presentation skills. In addition, the written report will allow students to reflect on the learning process and evaluate their own performance and the team's performance.

The creation of the chronicle and the written report are complementary activities that involve the practical application of theoretical concepts and reflection on the learning process. Thus, through these activities, students will be able to demonstrate their understanding and application of theoretical concepts, as well as their technical and socio-emotional skills.
