Activity Title: "Adverbials on Stage: Building and Narrating Stories"

Project Objective

Reinforce the understanding of Adverbial Subordinate Clauses through the creation and presentation of a short theatrical play where adverbial expressions play a central role.

Detailed Project Description

Students, organized in groups of 3 to 5, will be challenged to create a short theatrical play, approximately 10 to 15 minutes long. The plot must be developed in a way that necessarily uses and highlights different types of adverbial subordinate clauses (cause, consequence, condition, concession, purpose, proportion, comparison, time, place, etc.). The use of these clauses should be natural, incorporating them into the development of the story.

In addition to the play's presentation, the groups must produce a detailed script, in document format, that transcribes the dialogues and describes the scenes. In this script, the adverbial subordinate clauses used must be highlighted and classified according to type.

Detailed Activity Steps

1. Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Explain the project guidelines in detail, ensuring everyone understands.
3. The groups should first study the concepts of adverbial subordinate clauses and the examples in the provided materials.
4. After understanding the concept, the groups can start planning and outlining the theatrical play and its respective script.
5. The groups should create a plot where adverbial clauses can be naturally used within the story.
6. Each adverbial subordinate clause used must be highlighted and classified according to type in the script.
7. With the script in hand, the groups should start rehearsing the play.
8. Finally, after rehearsals, the plays will be presented to the entire class.

Students must submit the written script of the play, which should contain all dialogues, scene descriptions, and classification of the adverbial subordinate clauses used. Additionally, students must perform the play for the class.

After that, students must write a final project report, following the structure below:

1. Introduction: They should contextualize the theme of adverbial subordinate clauses, the relevance of the concept, and how the project helped to better understand the subject.
2. Development: Students must explain the theory of adverbial subordinate clauses, describe the project's development, explain the methodology used, and present the final result (the play and the script).
3. Conclusion: Students must summarize the main points, explain what they learned, and draw conclusions about the project.
4. Bibliography: Students must indicate the sources that supported the project.

By the end of the project, it is expected that students have improved their writing skills, identification and classification of adverbial subordinate clauses, as well as developed teamwork, creativity, and time management skills.
