Introduction

Duration: 15 to 20 minutes

The purpose of this stage of the lesson plan is to contextualize and connect students to the theme in a practical and relevant way, using the digital and everyday reality they are accustomed to. Through this introduction, students will feel more engaged and motivated to actively participate in subsequent activities, having the opportunity to express their prior knowledge and curiosities about the topic.

Warming Up

To start the class engagingly, explain to the students that hydrostatics and pressure are essential concepts not only in physics but also in various everyday and technological situations, such as the operation of submarines and airplanes, in addition to natural phenomena. Ask the students to use their phones to search for an interesting fact or curiosity about pressure on the internet. Give them a few minutes to research and then share with the class.

- Objective: Provide a practical and creative understanding of the concepts of pressure and atmospheric pressure, using a familiar and appealing digital platform for students.

- Description: Students will be divided into groups and must create a series of Instagram stories explaining concepts of pressure, atmospheric pressure and applying this knowledge to everyday and technological situations. They can use graphs, practical demonstrations and even digital simulations to make the content more attractive and informative.

- Instructions:

  • Divide students into groups of up to 5 people.

  • Each group must choose a specific topic related to pressure, such as 'Pressure at the bottom of the sea', 'How atmospheric pressure affects airplanes' or 'Pressure in syringes and medical equipment'.

  • Students must use their phones to create a series of Instagram stories that explain the chosen concept.

  • The stories must contain at least 5 and a maximum of 10 sequences and each must use at least one interactive resource, such as polls, questions or quizzes.

  • Encourage students to use graphs, images, videos and digital simulations to make the stories more attractive.

  • At the end, each group must present their stories to the class, explaining their choices and the content covered.
