Assumptions: This Active Lesson Plan assumes: a 100-minute class, prior student study with both the Book and the start of Project development, and that only one activity (among the three suggested) will be chosen to be conducted during the class, as each activity is designed to take up a significant portion of the available time.

Objectives

Duration: (5 - 10 minutes)

The Objectives stage is essential for establishing the learning goals of the lesson. By clearly defining what is expected for students to understand and be able to do, this section guides both the process of student preparation, who have already studied the content at home, and the conduction of activities in the classroom. The goals aim to deepen the knowledge about Asia's natural diversity and its adaptations, preparing students for critical analyses and discussions during the lesson.

1. Explore the biomes and ecosystems of the Asian continent, highlighting their diversity and ecological importance.

2. Identify and understand the adaptations of Asian fauna and flora species to different climates and geographical conditions.

  1. Encourage students' critical thinking about the conservation of Asian ecosystems and their interdependence with the rest of the world.

Introduction

Duration: (15 - 20 minutes)

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Develop research, teamwork, and presentation skills, deepening the knowledge about the biodiversity and specific adaptations of Asian biomes.

- Description: Students will be divided into groups of up to 5 people, and each group will represent a team of biologists on an expedition to a specific biome in Asia. They must create a field report that includes a detailed description of the biome, highlighting the species of fauna and flora found, their adaptations, and ecological importance.

- Instructions:

  • Choose an Asian biome to study: Tropical Forests, Gobi Desert, Himalayas, Siberian Steppes, or Temperate Forests.

  • Research the main species of fauna and flora in the chosen biome, focusing on their adaptations to the specific environment.

  • Create a map showing the distribution of these species in the biome and present it digitally or on paper.

  • Prepare a presentation of no more than 10 minutes, where each group member must contribute information about a specific species and its adaptations.
