However, soil is constantly under threat due to unsustainable land use practices, such as excessive deforestation, intensive agriculture without proper soil conservation practices, and rapid urbanization. Therefore, it is essential that we learn more about soil and how we can protect it.

Each group will be responsible for collecting soil samples from the following locations: a green foliage area (park, forest), an agricultural area (if available), and an urban area. The samples should be collected at least 5 cm deep to capture the different soil layers.
