Practical Activity

Activity Title: Discovering the Implied Subject: A Collaborative Tale.

Project Objective:

Develop students' ability to identify the use of the implied subject in texts, as well as to use them in their own writing, promoting textual cohesion. At the same time, the activity will encourage collaboration, efficient communication, and time management through the collective creation of a tale.

Detailed Project Description:

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be responsible for creating a collaborative tale that effectively applies the use of the implied subject, demonstrating a clear understanding of this aspect of textual cohesion.

Students will start the project by researching and studying the implied subject and textual cohesion using the suggested resources and others they find. Based on this, they will develop a plan and a draft for their tale, identifying where and how they plan to incorporate the implied subject.

The tale must be original and creative, and must include at least five clear examples of the use of the implied subject for textual cohesion. Additionally, the tale must be accompanied by a detailed report that explains the theory of the implied subject and textual cohesion, and describes how they were applied in the tale.

Required Materials:

• Computer or paper and pen to write the tale and report;
• Internet access for research.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:

1. Divided into groups, each student individually should research the implied subject and textual cohesion. Subsequently, the groups will meet to discuss and consolidate their understanding of these concepts.

2. Each group will then brainstorm and outline an idea for a tale that can effectively illustrate the use of the implied subject. The idea must be agreed upon by all group members.

3. Based on the outline, students will start writing their tale, ensuring it is clear, cohesive, and includes at least five examples of the use of the implied subject.

4. Once the tale is finished, groups should work together to write a detailed report, explaining the entire creation process and investigating the instances of the implied subject used, justifying its use on each occasion.

5. The report's conclusion should encompass the learnings acquired throughout the project, as well as reflections on how this type of textual cohesion can be applied in other contexts.

6. The final report will consist of the Introduction (Context and relevance of the implied subject), Development (Theory on the implied subject and textual cohesion, Detailed description of the tale and the methodology used), Conclusions (Learnings and conclusions from the project), and Bibliography.

Project Deliverables:

At the end of the project, each group must deliver:

1. The collaborative tale, clearly and effectively illustrating the use of the implied subject;

2. A detailed report explaining the concept of the implied subject and textual cohesion, describing how these concepts were applied in writing the tale, explaining the methodology used in the project, and discussing the results obtained.

In addition to encompassing the concepts worked on in the activity, the written document should dialogue with the tale production. In other words, students should describe how they applied the concepts in the tale and what reflections and learnings were acquired from the project.
