The 'Average 2' Project proposes to explore this concept in an interactive and practical way, allowing students to understand the content while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Project Objective

This activity aims to allow students to understand the concept of the average and its applicability in the real world. Additionally, they will develop fundamental skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.

Detailed Project Description

Students, in groups of 3 to 5, will design and conduct a small experiment in which they will collect a data set and calculate the average. The theme of the experiment is free, however, areas such as sports (e.g., average goals in a series of matches), sciences (e.g., average plant growth), weather conditions (e.g., average temperature during the week), etc., are suggested.

Groups should carefully plan how they will collect the data, ensuring that it is collected fairly and accurately. After the collection, they should calculate the average and present the results in their report, explaining how the average value represents the collected data.

Required Materials

There is no need for specific materials for this project unless they are related to the experiment chosen by the students. They will need paper, pencils, and a calculator for the calculations.
