  2. Encourage students' self-confidence when interpreting and discussing literary texts.

Introduction

Duration: (10 - 15 minutes)

Purpose: The purpose of this step is to stimulate curiosity and student engagement from the start of the class. By using their phones to search for information, students become active agents in the learning process, connecting prior knowledge with new discoveries. This initial interactive moment also fosters a collaborative environment and prepares students for a deeper debate about tales.

Warming Up

📝 Warm-up: Start the class by introducing the theme of tales and their fundamental characteristics. Encourage students to reflect on what they already know. Instruct them to use their phones to search for an interesting fact about tales, whether about the history of tales, renowned authors, or types of tales. Allow them to share their findings with the class.

Initial Reflections

1. 📚 What defines a tale? What are its main characteristics?

2. 🕵️‍♂️ How does a tale differ from other textual genres, such as novels or chronicles?

3. 💭 What are the essential elements that make up a tale?

4. 🌟 Do you have a favorite tale? What makes it special to you?

5. 🔍 Have you ever had an experience creating a tale? How was that process?

Development

Duration: (70 - 80 minutes)

The purpose of this step is to allow students to apply their knowledge about tales practically and creatively, using digital tools to enrich and expand their narratives. The proposed activities encourage collaboration, the use of technology, and artistic expression, providing a meaningful and contextualized learning experience with the digital reality of students.

Activity Suggestions

It is recommended that only one of the suggested activities be carried out

Activity 1 - 🏰 Creating Tales with Storytelling on Instagram

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Stimulate students' creativity and storytelling ability, using popular digital platforms and integrating different media to enrich the narrative.

- Description: Students will create a tale and transform it into a series of posts on Instagram, using tools like photos, videos, stories, and hashtags. Each group will be responsible for creating a fictional Instagram profile to narrate their tale creatively and interactively.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the students into groups of up to 5 people.

  • Each group must create a fictional Instagram profile, which will be used exclusively for the activity.

  • The group must draft an original tale with all essential elements: introduction, development, climax, and conclusion.

  • Next, they must plan how the tale will be divided into posts and stories on Instagram, using photos, videos, short texts, and emojis to enrich the narrative.

  • Encourage the use of hashtags related to the tale's theme.

  • Each group must present their profile and narrative to the class, highlighting how they used Instagram resources to tell the story.

  • The teacher should circulate among the groups, offering guidance and feedback as needed.

Activity 2 - 🎮 Gamifying Tales: Creating an Interactive Game

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Develop creative writing and non-linear narrative skills, while also promoting critical thinking and problem-solving by integrating technology and storytelling.

- Description: Students will create a tale that will be transformed into an interactive game using the Twine tool, which allows for the creation of non-linear narratives. The idea is for players to make choices that will affect the unfolding of the tale.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the students into groups of up to 5 people.

  • Each group must outline an original tale, including different branches and alternate endings.

  • Guide them to use the Twine tool (https://twinery.org/) to turn their tale into an interactive game.

  • Each group must create a diagram of the choices players can make and how those choices affect the narrative.

  • Encourage them to add multimedia elements such as images and sounds to make the gaming experience more engaging.

  • Once finished, each group must present their game to the class, explaining the creative process and the different choices within the narrative.

  • The teacher should provide technical support and feedback during the game creation.

Activity 3 - 📹 Tales in Video: Producing a Short Film

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Encourage students' creativity in adapting literary texts to other media, promoting teamwork and the development of technical and artistic skills.

- Description: Students will adapt a classic or original tale into a short film script and produce a video using their phones. They should divide themselves into roles such as scriptwriters, directors, actors, and editors.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the students into groups of up to 5 people.

  • Each group must choose a classic tale or create an original tale to adapt into a short film script.

  • Students should divide into roles as scriptwriters, directors, actors, and editors.

  • Guide each group to plan the filming, choosing appropriate locations, costumes, and props.

  • Students must film the scenes with their phones and use video editing apps to assemble the short film.

  • After production, each group must present their short film to the class, highlighting the creative choices made during the process.

  • The teacher should provide support and feedback throughout the entire creation and production process.

Feedback

Duration: (20 - 25 minutes)

🔍 Purpose: The purpose of this step is to consolidate students' learning through a collective reflection on their experiences and discoveries. The group discussion and 360° feedback promote a deeper understanding of the concepts worked on while developing socio-emotional skills such as empathy and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

Group Discussion

🗣️ Group Discussion: Promote a group discussion where all students can share their experiences and learnings during the activities. Use the following script to guide the discussion:

Ask the groups to present a quick summary of the work they did, highlighting the main challenges and solutions encountered. Ask students how the experience of using digital tools to tell their stories was. Encourage students to compare the experience of creating tales in different ways (Instagram, interactive game, video). Encourage the class to discuss the impact of adapting tales to different platforms and how that affected the narrative.

Reflections

1. 🤔 What were the main challenges you encountered while creating the tale using digital resources? 2. 🎨 How did the use of different platforms and media (Instagram, Twine, video) influence the way you told the story? 3. 🚀 What did you learn about the importance of narrative in different digital contexts?

360° Feedback

🔄 360° Feedback: Instruct students to conduct a 360° feedback session, where each student should receive constructive feedback from other group members about their contribution and performance. Guide the class to focus on specific aspects such as creativity, collaboration, the use of digital tools, and clarity in the narrative. Encourage an environment of mutual respect and support.

Conclusion

Duration: (10 - 15 minutes)

🎯 Purpose: The purpose of this step is to consolidate learning in a light and fun way, helping students see the relevance of the activities conducted and how they connect with the world around them. This is a final reflection that reinforces the importance of tales and promotes an expanded view of their applications in everyday life.
