Immersed in an animated discussion, they discovered that there were two main types of charges: positive and negative. They learned that the negative charge, carried by electrons, is what moves from one body to another, while the positive charge is, in fact, the absence of electrons. But before they could advance in their mission, they needed to solve a riddle: 'What is the definition of electric charge and its main characteristics?' They noted in their mental notebooks: electric charge is an intrinsic property of subatomic particles, measured in Coulombs (C). Positive and negative charges attract each other when they are opposite and repel each other when they are the same.

With this answer registered in their minds, the digital detectives used a physics simulation app, PhET Interactive Simulations, turning learning into a true investigative adventure. With their phones in hand and eyes shining with curiosity, they explored how the charges behaved under different conditions. They discovered that by rubbing balloons on their hair, the charges were transferred, creating the famous static electricity. Equipped with a camera, paper, and pen, they illustrated this concept through animations and simple experiments, showing that negative charges can jump between objects, especially through direct contact or vigorous rubbing. The film became a hit among their classmates and was applauded by Mrs. Gomes, who encouraged them to always seek innovative ways to share knowledge.

But the adventure was far from over. Mrs. Gomes proposed a scientific communication challenge that would require their creativity and digital talent. The siblings had to become digital science influencers, engagingly and informatively sharing their discoveries on social media. With that, they created vibrant posts on Instagram and captivating videos on TikTok, explaining the concepts of electric charge simply and funnily. The school community found themselves involved in the discovery: 'Can you remember what the charge of an electron is and how we use it to calculate the total charge of a body?' they asked in the comments. 'That’s right, each electron has a charge of -1.602 x 10^-19 Coulombs!' they explained, using illustrations and everyday examples.

To conclude the journey, our detectives participated in a Quiz Show using Kahoot! The auditorium was packed with classmates eager to test their knowledge. They competed by quickly answering questions about charge transfer and calculating the total charge of a body. The competition was fierce, with quick and euphoric responses, but only the fastest and most accurate stood out, taking home nothing less than the Physics excellence trophy.

Finally, Lúcia and Pedro reflected on the entire adventure. They discovered that understanding electric charge is not just a theoretical concept; it is the key to understanding many everyday phenomena and technological advancements. From that magic trick with the balloon to the wonders of electrical engineering, everything is interconnected by the same conductive wire of electricity. They spent several afternoons reviewing their discoveries and thinking about new experiments to conduct.
